Coffee-Table Book: Hamiduzzaman Sculpture Park

Chairman’s Message

If you were to have the opportunity to visit the Hamiduzzaman Sculpture Park at Summit 464 MW Gazipur Power Plants at Kodda, you would be met with a marriage of art and industrialisation. One of Bangladesh's largest power plants with installed capacity of 464MW of electricity is intertwined with the grand large-scale, loving, philosophical and historical sculptures of Hamiduzzaman. You will be overcome with love and pride for Bangladesh, as you see the moving sculptures representing 26th March 1971.
Hamiduzzaman transcends businesses and work with physical and tangible forms that reflect human desire to do better for himself, the society, the country and the world. You will feel elated as you see the piece titled "Sun," the source of all energy. In a feat of industry, the 450MW of electricity generated at the power plants provides electricity to about 3.4 million people of Bangladesh.
Hamiduzzaman's sculptures and arts lift the spirit to achieve even greater heights. It creates and expresses through art, the dreams and vision of Bangladesh as a developed nation. Hamiduzzaman's art and sculptures have achieved international standard many years back, and I was fortunate enough to see his work at the World Bank's headquarters in Washington DC. I am waiting for the day I can see his inspiring sculptures at the Seoul Olympic village.
It has been one of the most glorious chapters of my life to befriend Professor Hamiduzzaman Khan. It was an even greater honour when he agreed to build the first and only Sculpture Park of Bangladesh at our scenic Gazipur Power Plant, on about 32 acres of land. I hope that we will all visit and continue to revisit the park. If you contact the power plant and make an appointment to see it, I can assure you, you will be as happy and awed as we will be honoured to host you.
Congratulations and thank you Professor Hamiduzzaman Khan for continuing to enhance the spirit of humanity.
