Tetsuma Sugihara

Tetsuma Sugihara brings over three decades of global energy sector leadership to Summit Power International. He has held senior roles at Mitsubishi Corporation and JERA, Japan’s largest power company, where he oversaw international power project development, risk analysis, and strategic investment decisions across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.

During his career, Sugihara-san has managed LNG shipping and trading ventures, spearheaded acquisitions in the U.S. natural gas market, and guided major projects including Cameron LNG and Wheatstone LNG. As Chief Strategy Officer of CIMA ENERGY LP, he helped the company achieve record earnings and expand into the top tier of U.S. natural gas marketers. Most recently at JERA, he led the GEP Strategy Office, driving divisional reorganization and investment strategy.

Sugihara holds a Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering from Seikei University. His extensive expertise in global IPP strategies, commercial risk management, low-carbon energy, LNG, and international project development equips him uniquely to guide Summit Power International’s next phase of growth and commitment to sustainable growth and global partnerships.
