Summit Meghnaghat II power plant is one of the cheapest electricity supply for Bangladesh. It is the #3 plant on the Merit Order which indicates it is the 3rd least cost power plant to dispatch. Summit Meghnaghat II power plant along with all of Summit’s projects have international stakeholders and lenders with extremely strong due diligence and governance requirements. 

It is entirely speculative and without merit to state there is any “collusion between business, politicians and bureaucrats to award overpriced and unnecessary contracts in order to deliberately create huge excess profits.” These are very serious allegations and should not be made without specific evidence.
