Summit LNG welcomes Ashik Chowdhury

(Chattogram) 22nd February 2025, Saturday: As part of the interim government’s initiative to inspect Bangladesh’s key energy facilities, a high level delegation led by Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun (Ashik Chowdhury), Executive Chairman, BIDA and BEZA was welcomed by Md Sayedul Alam, Project Director and Capt Showkat Hossain Chowdhury, DGM of Summit LNG Terminal.

The delegation was warmly welcomed at the Chittagong Boat Club and then proceeded to Summit’s Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) terminal, located off the coast of Moheshkhali. A guided tour of the Summit LNG terminal and its associated infrastructure was conducted using Summit's Fast Crew Boat (Summit PSA-5). Following the successful completion of the tour, the distinguished guests were escorted to Matarbari Jetty.

The visiting thirteen member delegation comprised of Md Amin Ul Ahsan, Chairman, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), Farzana Mamtaz, Secretary, Power Division, Mohammad Saiful Islam, Secretary, Energy and Mineral Resources Division (EMRD), Md Nazrul Islam, Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Md Rezanur Rahman, Chairman, Petrobangla, Engr Md Rafiqul Islam, Director, Petrobangla & Managing Director, RPGCL, Md Sharif Hasnat, Managing Director, Eastern Refinery Limited, Dr Nurun Nahar Chowdhury, Additional Secretary, EMRD, K M Ali Reza, Additional Secretary, Power Division, Md Anwarul Habib, Joint Secretary, EMRD, Farhana Jahan Upama, Senior Assistant Secretary, EMRD and Engr Md Nasir Uddin, Deputy General Manager, RPGCL.

This engagement offered a valuable opportunity for dialogue and exchanging views on the future of LNG in Bangladesh. During the tour, Summit’s steadfast commitment to supporting the nation's energy goals through uninterrupted service and its continuous efforts to meet national gas demand were clearly demonstrated.
