(Dhaka) 12 March 2020, Thursday: Country’s largest infrastructure conglomerate Summit Group has presented five world-class Thermal Scanners to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFA) for effectively and speedily identifying body temperatures of the passengers at international airports in Bangladesh. Given the high traffic at international airports in Bangladesh, it has become difficult for public health and airport officials to effectively and timely check body temperatures in a crowd with individual handheld devices. The thermal scanners would help in correct identification of passengers with fever, which is one of the major symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) and enable better coordination with airport and public health professionals for quarantine. Summit is also sponsoring two officials from Singapore to help install the thermal scanners.

The honourable Minister of MoHFA Zahid Maleque, MP received the thermal scanners from Mohammed Latif Khan, Vice-Chairman of Summit Group. In addition, Directors of Summit Group Azeeza Aziz Khan, Fadiah Khan and Salman Khan were present along with senior government officials.

Muhammed Aziz Khan, Chairman of Summit Group said, “We, at Summit, are most grateful for the opportunity to be of service by providing world class thermal scanners during this crisis."
